Dr. M. Pugazhenthi M.A., M.phil., B.Ed., N.E.T., Ph.D.,

History Club co-ordinator

The History Club gives a creative space for students to debate, deliberate and expresses their perspectives on historical events. It plays vital role in moulding students’ personality and sense of historical enquiry. The competitions of the club also serve to promote the teamwork. Under the aegis of the club, the History Square- a History wall magazine has been initiated that displays various panels on themes of historical relevance.

VISION

The History aims to make the students aware of the past through Club activities. We believe that only a critical understanding of the past will enable the students to understand the present and help them look towards the future.

MISSION

The history club is an organization to promoting historical literacy and to facilitating interaction between students and faculties. This club is recommended for students pursuing careers in education or public history.

OBJECTIVES

  • To have some knowledge and understanding of historical development in the wider world.
  • To help children understand society and their place within it, so that they develop a sense of their cultural heritage.
  • To develop in children the skills of enquiry, investigation, analysis, evaluation and presentations.
